From Ash Wednesday to Easter
It is interesting to note that this year Ash Wednesday falls on February 14th (St Valentine’s Day) and Easter Day is the 1st April.
You will read elsewhere in another article about a Confirmation service to be held in St Andrew’s in September. It seems a good time then to ponder on our own Confirmation – however long ago it might have been.
Shining the light of Christ
Last week I had the privilege of attending a special service in the centre of Derby, to celebrate and commemorate the birth of Florence Nightingale in May1820.
To the early disciples it must have seemed a cruel prank of Mary to come and tell them that Jesus was no longer in the tomb.
