General rule worship with two congregations – A to M and N to Z alternative weeks –

We do have some spare capacity each week. However, in the first instance phone me or email me. It might well be that there is room for you to attend – but it may not be possible to accommodate you. PLEASE do not just turn up at Church without consulting Graham

Those attending are welcome to bring their own cushion or blanket to sit on as long as you bring it and take it away with you. If it makes you more comfortable to use a cushion – please feel free.

Face coverings – government guidelines. – face coverings are mandatory in Places of Worship from 8th August. There are exemptions about wearing facemasks and these are listed on the Government website.

Normalising church – in an attempt to enrich our Church Services we are now suggesting that where possible people may like to stand for the reading of the Gospel lesson, the Creed and the Peace.

I would hope we might begin to have other people involved in the service by either reading or leading intercessions. If you would like to offer either to read or lead the intercessions please contact one of the clergy team and we will produce a list in due course.

Thursday Prayer at Ten"  Now Holy Communion is taking place again.

However for those not able to attend you may join us ‘in Spirit’  "together but apart" in the presence of Christ whilst remaining in our own homes.

You are invited to devote 15 minutes, starting at 10 a.m. with the "Our Father" then praying for the weeks cause and concluding at 10.15 by saying the "Grace".  This is NOT on the internet it is simply committing to that time each week by praying "together whilst apart".

Here is the prayer for Thursday prayer:

Here is the prayer for Thursday prayer:

On Sunday last we celebrated the feast of St Luke. St Luke was described by Paul as the "beloved physician".   Today our prayers and reflection, recalls with gratitude all who are in the medical, nursing and allied professions. We give thanks for their generous and wise use of knowledge, skills and compassion.

"Heavenly Father, we pray that all in the medical, nursing and allied professions may be granted the wisdom and strength needed to help and care for others in this time of crisis"

"Stories through the Lockdown"

Do you have any stories, reflections or thoughts that you would like to share? Much has changed since lockdown, much in our world and much in ourselves.

Perhaps you have some anecdotes of things which have "warmed" your hearts during lockdown, or things which have amused you, things which have caused you sadness or worry, things that have caused you to ask questions.....

If you would like to share these thoughts ,please send them in by letter, email or phone. They can be anonymised for sharing (but origin needs to be known by the editor) and we can either make a small booklet or feature them in the newsletter...to be of some encouragement/consolation or solidarity to others. Please send in to Margaret or speak to any of the clergy team.

Lectio 365 This is the name of an App that you can down load for free to your mobile phone. Each day there is a simple yet profound 10-minute act of devotion. I commend it to you. I am using it myself at the moment. Graham

Bishop Peter Hancock – Bishop Peter is now at home after his first round of Chemo and is awaiting Stem cell replacement. Please continue your prayers for him and his wife Jane.
