Prayer at St Andrew's is vital to it's ministry. At St. Andrew's we recognise the importance of praying to God and for one another so we have provided the opportunity for people to receive prayer on a Sunday morning for specific situations that are on their hearts and minds. All of us at some point in our lives face circumstances that puzzle, distress, confuse or frighten us. It may be that someone is trying to discern guidance; has a problem, wants to pray for someone else ; is unhappy, needs strength for a situation or wants to offer thanks for something. It is at these times that its good to take advice from the writer of Philippians and to come aside to pray and express our needs to God.
We, therefore, offer prayer ministry each week following the Eucharist at 10am where prayer is offered in the St. Nicholas Chapel. Each week 2 people from the Prayer Ministry Team will make their way to the chapel, and anyone who would like to receive prayer for anything at all is welcome to go into the chapel (at the front of Church on the right) to be prayed for.
Prayer Ministry is non judgmental and very simple and gentle; we ask God to make his presence known in any given situation. The matters discussed for prayer will be treated in confidence by those praying for you.
Many people have received prayer and found it helpful, reassuring and refreshing, so don't be shy - if there is something on your mind come and let us pray for you.
We also hold several times of prayer throughout the month for example the Mothers Union hold their prayer meetings on 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at 10:30am in the Church, (please see page on Mother's Union for more information) and the Julian Meetings on the 3rd Monday at 10am in the Church (please see page on Julian Meeting for more information).
