Pastoral Letter 10th January 2021

Dear Folks

This email is to inform you that public worship will cease at St Andrew's Church, Burnham with effect of Sunday 17th January.

This means that our two services tomorrow will be the last ones where people can choose to attend in person.

We will suspend public worship and seek the bishop's permission to do so . We will then review this situation

at half term in the light of the government's own review of the situation.

As you are aware the situation has deteriorated rapidly in the past week

This decision to suspend worship was made in the light of

facts that there were 592 cases of C19 in Sedgemoor in the past week

 - an increase of +42% on the previous week.

It is predicted that this coming week's figures will be worse.

Burnham is identified as one of the 'hotspots' in Somerset for C19 ( where there is more than 30 cases).

Burnham has 48 cases in the last eight days. The facts speak for themselves.

In the meanwhile, please retain your giving envelopes or put through the Vicarage door if you are out exercising.

Our online provision of services will continue. More information next week concerning some developments

with this provision.

Together or apart - we are all with the Lord - 'I am with you always' Matt28v20

Yours ever

Graham
