One of the tools of St. Andrew’s Missionary Outreach is its Magazine. This is published in 10 editions each year, monthly except for January and August. The magazine is printed in A5 format, with either 36 or 40 pages. It contains parish news, roots, records of baptism, weddings and deaths, a monthly letter from the Bishop and other diocesan news, a vicar or associate vicars letter as well as cartoons and puzzles. The magazine belongs to the parish and contributions from parishioners are always welcome. Lively and informed debate is the lifeblood of any organisation, so please do send any material that you think might be interesting, amusing or informative. We are all on a spiritual journey, so sharing what has been important to you, or even negative, may well help others on their journey, as will questions you may have. Readers are challenged with articles about social and religious issues of the day, and are invited to respond to controversial subjects.
Although much of the magazine is concerned with domestic issues there are pages devoted to outreach, including items from Christian Aid, Children’s Society and Mission to Seafarers and other secular and christian organisations and charities.
The magazine is self funding with a 50p cover price and advertisements from local traders. It has a circulation of around 200, with a probable readership exceeding that. The current editor is a retired priest living in the parish, the Rev’d Richard Sigrist.
Please note: Material can be sent to the email below in Word or RTF format by the 20th of the previous month but don’t leave it to the last minute.
