Church Choir Report 2017

Not such a busy year for the choir again.

We had our summer Deanery choral festival at Axbridge. It's always good to join up with the other choirs in the deanery. Our Autumn Deanery Eucharist was held at Westbury-sub-Mendip.
Some of our choir members went to Wells cathedral to sing in the diocesan festival in June, such an experience.
We also helped with the hymn singing for the town's civic service.
Alas we didn’t sing at any wedding this year.
The highlight of the year was the Gala concert to celebrate the refurbishment of the Church. This took place in September the choir sang a selection of Andrew Lloyd-Webber songs, concluding with You raise me up. Most enjoyable evening, so much talent in our Church.
In December we joined other Churches in the area for carols at Wetherspoons.
Then we had our own carol service, and Midnight mass, where we sang some lovely anthems and carols.
We started our new year with a visit to the Mothers union, this year we sang selections of songs from the shows, we all really enjoyed ourselves.
Plus of course we sing an Anthem every Sunday, which many of you tell us how much you enjoy. It takes a lot of practice for us to sing these anthem’s we usually start to practice three weeks before the Sunday we sing them. We do appreciate it when you tell us how much you have enjoyed them. Thank you.
So watch this space, you never know what we have up our sleeve.

God Bless you all
